My Favorite Essential Oil Companies
There always seems to be a debate in the oils community on which oil company actually is the best. Many claims as to only one pure company, many claims on purity that just aren't true as well. I really don't want to dive into a debate on which is better because I am a firm believer in brand not really mattering. As long as you are sure they are pure oils (gc/ms reports can help determine this, and a company being open and honest about their oils) then it matters a lot less what brand you choose to use and that you use them safely. I wanted to give my opinion on the brands that I personally use and like. I have used quite a few brands and there are few that I truly enjoy and would buy again.
Brands I use and love:
Plant Therapy: I mean is this really any surprise? 90% of my essential oils are Plant Therapy. I love how they are run by aromatherapists, and I love how they make safety a priority. While they are not perfect, and do miss some things, they do have the best safety and advice of any company that I have seen and I really enjoy their stance on ingestion. They provide all the reports for their oils and I 100% trust their purity. Plus their kids line is far superior than other company.
Simply Earth: They share reports, they have high quality oils, they make essential oil safety and education super accessible. This brand has quickly become one of my favorites. They are truly wonderful, and I really love their subscription box. They really found a way to make switching to a more non-toxic household simple for people.
Revive: I really enjoy Revive as a company, they also share reports on their oils and I am 100% sure on their purity. I feel as though they could work a little better at getting proper safety information out, but their customer service is superior and they really listen to the consumer. They aren’t a brand I really turn to all that often, but I don’t purposely avoid them like other brands and if you tell me you use them I will tell you I like the company.
Brands I enjoy, but probably wouldn't purchase again:
Young Living: These oils are really great but because of the price, the massive amounts of bad advice that comes from this company and them having the worst safety of any company I have seen I can't monetarily support them. They are great oils though, and if you use them there is no question they are pure. Just make sure you personally know and understand the safeties to essential oils because Young Living isn't very safety conscious.
doTERRA: Again, another company with really great oils. The quality on these oils are awesome. They also have a lot of safety issues that I can't ignore, and I was not impressed with customer service or how they handle informing people of dilution. They aren't on the same level as Young Living though, and to be quite honest price is my biggest factor here. I would actually purchase from them again if it was in the budget. But I will continue to speak out on the obvious safety issues they have.
Essential oils companies I have never tried, but am curious about:
Edens Garden: after reviewing their kids line I was honestly impressed. They seem to check out and I would like to try them in the future. I feel as though they would be quality oils, and I see no red flags.
Rocky Mountain Oils: I have heard even less about this company, but I see them pop up a lot. I plan to do a review of their kids line as well, but I am curious and would love to try them and see.
For fun, I added in some brands that I would love to try out as well. I would like to point out there is not hate at all for any company. It's important to note that I can find an issue with any essential oil company, sadly with selling essential oils a lot of safety is missed. I support companies that I personally trust and that I enjoy. But there is rarely an essential oil company that I would recommend no one use ever (amazon oils, looking at you) because I don't believe that are real. In my opinion, as long as you are sure they are real oils and are using them safely it does not matter what brand you choose to use.
