Edens Garden OK for Kids Line Overview
Next up for review is Edens Garden. They have a kid safe line called OK for kids, they say it’s safe for ages 2+. Now I have never actually used any Edens Garden oils, but I know many people that have and love them. From what I have looked into on them they seem like a great company. But how safe is the kids line? Let’s go over it and find out. As a third party observer who has never specifically used this company I will simply be looking at the ingredients and determining wether or not the oils are indeed kid safe.
Aches and Pains: Lavender- Bulgarian (Lavandula angustifolia), Lemon- Steam Distilled (Citrus limon), Frankincense- Carterii(Boswellia carterii), Juniper Berry (Juniperus communis), Orange- Sweet (Citrus sinensis), Sweet Marjoram(Origanum majorana), Petitgrain (Citrus aurantium), Sandalwood- East Indian (Santalum album), Helichrysum- Italicum (Helichrysum italicum), Ginger (Zingiber officinale), Blue Tansy (Tanacetum annuum), Osmanthus Absolute(Osmanthus fragrans), Spikenard (Nardostachys jatamansi)
This is a great oil, safe for the recommended ages. Honestly there isn’t much to say on this, it seems awesome for what it is and they are true to their word on it’s safety and age range. You could probably use it for kids under 2 as well if they have used these oils before hand, but do not hold me to my word on that since I didn’t take the time to individually check the age for each oil.
Bee Happy: Lemon (Citrus limon), Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis), Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi), Lime (Citrus aurantifolia) steam distilled, Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), Mandarin(Citrus reticulata), Geranium (Pelargonium gravelolens), Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Damiana (Turnera diffusa), Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides), Vanilla CO2 (Vanilla planifolia)
Again another great one, and all oils that are great for lifting the mood and providing a little burst of energy when you need a pick me up. I am impressed so far with these, I honestly don’t have high hopes for this line so let’s see if I am pleasantly surprised.
Breathe in Breathe out: Silver Fir (Abies alba), Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Lemon (Citrus limon) steam distilled, Frankincense(Boswellia carterii), Sweet Marjoram (Origanum majorana), Lime (Citrus aurantifolia) steam distilled, Roman Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis), Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides), Damiana (Turnera diffusa), Ginger (Zingiber officinale), Spearmint (Mentha spicata), Vanilla CO2 (Vanilla planifolia)
Yes, I love this one as well. I love how they used spearmint instead of peppermint and added in some of those tree oils that are great for congestion. This seems like a great one and it’s definitely safe for the recommended ages.
Calm ’em down: Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Petitgrain (Citrus aurantium), Sweet Orange(Citrus sinensis), Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides), Damiana(Turnera diffusa), Vanilla CO2 (Vanilla planifolia)
Also another great one, I’m beginning to wonder if I will have anything at all to complain about. Perfect oils for calming down. I also appreciate how these blends aren’t really similar to other blends from other companies. This blend is totally different from Plant Therapy’s Calming the Child.
Focus focus focus: Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi), Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Pink Pepper (Schinus molle), Lime (Citrus aurantifolia) steam distilled, Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica), Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis), East Indian Sandalwood(Santalum album), Spearmint (Mentha spicata), Geranium(Pelargonium graveolens), Osmanthus Absolute (Osmanthus fragrans), Vanilla CO2 (Vanilla planifolia)
Another good one, I am not sure I would use Lavender in a focus blend with other energizing oils personally but overall I don’t have complaints about this one. It’s a great safe oil.
Germ ease: Frankincense (Boswellia carterii), Lemon (Citrus limon) steam distilled, Juniper Berry (Juniperus communis), Sweet Marjoram (Origanum majorana), Pink Pepper (Schinus molle), Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica), Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis), Petitgrain (Citrus aurantium), Cedarwood(Juniperus mexicana), Damiana (Turnera diffusa), Blue Tansy(Tanacetum annuum), Vanilla CO2 (Vanilla planifolia)
Another great one! Honestly I am starting to get a little bored here, partially from how much work doing a post like this is but also because there isn’t a single thing to complain about. Which is great, but also doesn’t make for a super interesting blog post. Once again I need to appreciate how this doesn’t replicate other germ blends and seems unique, and I love how they didn’t add any hot oils either- which a lot of germ blends do have.
Head-a-sore-us: Frankincense (Boswellia carterii), Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Roman Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis)
I adore this one! It is simple and to the point and perfectly safe, even safe for all ages (when it’s appropriate to use essential oils) so this could be a great oil for aches and pains in younger kids as well.
Ouch ease: Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Juniper Berry (Juniperus communis), Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia), Lime (Citrus aurantifolia) steam distilled, German Chamomile(Matricaria chamomilla), Roman Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis), Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata), Davana (Artemisia pallens)
This one is safe for 2+ for sure, with the Ylang Ylang I wouldn’t use it topically for anyone younger. They do not advertise use on kids younger than 2 however so this passes with flying colors.
Pollen Buster: Fir Needle (Abies sibirica), Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Rosalina (Melaleuca ericafolia), Geranium(Pelargonium graveolens), Blue Tansy (Tanacetum annuum), Moroccan Rose (Rosa centifolia)
Another great oil, truly wonderful. I feel like I should have known this wasn’t going to be bad with how many people I’ve seen rave about this company.
Shoo Fly: Lemon Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus citriodora), Nootka Tree(Cupressus nootkatensis), Cedarwood (Juniperus mexicana), Catnip (Nepeta cataria), Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin), Vanilla CO2 (Vanilla planifolia)
I am only concerned about the Nootka Tree simply because I haven’t heard of this. When in doubt just don’t, so I can’t recommend this. If I find information on it and it’s safe then yes but for now it’s a no from me.
Sleepy head: Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica), Frankincense (Boswellia sacra), Tangerine (Citrus reticulata), Petitgrain (Citrus aurantium), Ylang Ylang(Cananga odorata), Sweet Marjoram (Origanum majorana), Roman Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis)
All great kid safe oils here! Perfect for bedtime as well. Another pass in my book.
Sniffles and sneezes: Silver Fir (Abies alba), Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica), Pine(Pinus sylvestris), Spruce (Tsuga canadensis), Sweet Orange(Citrus sinensis), Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
A wonderful kid safe oil for those sniffly days. True to their word, this one is great.
Soothe and smooth: Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Seabuckthorn Berry CO2 (Hippophae rhamnoides), Rosehip CO2 (Rosa canina), Marigold Flower CO2 (Calendula officinalis), Pine (Pinus sylvestris), Evening Primrose CO2 (Oenothera biennis), Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens), Frankincense(Boswellia carterii), East Indian Sandalwood (Santalum album), Roman Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis), German Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), Gurjun Balsam(Dipterocarpus turbinatus), Vanilla CO2 (Vanilla planifolia), Rose (Rosa damascena), Helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum)
I do not have information on Seabuckthorn berry of the Gurjun Balsam so for those reasons I can’t recommend them. Again if I get information on them and it’s safe then yes. But for now, when in doubt, I just wouldn’t do it.
Sound asleep: Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Sweet Marjoram(Origanum majorana), Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi), Damiana(Turnera diffusa), Cistus (Cistus ladanifer), Osmanthus Absolute (Osmanthus fragrans)
Another for sure safe oil, honestly they have been on point lately. At least they aren’t using blatantly dangerous oils. I can appreciate that.
Study Buddy: Lemon (Citrus limon) steam distilled, Litsea (Litsea cubeba), Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi), Black Pepper (Piper nigrum), Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica), Cypress Wood (Cupressus torulosa), Lime (Citrus aurantifolia) steam distilled, Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides), Damiana (Turnera diffusa), Spearmint (Mentha spicata), Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin)
Here comes that Litsea again, guys I just don’t know. I had even checked Tisserand book and didn’t find the exact species (or at least details on it) so I will have to say no for this one until I can get some better information. Better to be safe.
Tummy Aide: Ginger (Zingiber officinale), Lemon (Citrus limon) steam distilled, Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Petitgrain(Citrus aurantium), Sweet Orange (Citrus sinesis), Spearmint (Mentha spicata), Roman Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis), German Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), Vanilla CO2(Vanilla planifolia)
Yes, yes, YES for this blend. Totally kid safe and I am glad that there is a kid oil that isn’t using fennel in the blend. All of my yes.
Up and at ’em: Lemon (Citrus limon) steam distilled, Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis), Lime (Citrus aurantifolia) steam distilled, Lavender(Lavandula angustifolia), Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica), Spearmint (Mentha spicata), Frankincense (Boswellia carterii), Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides), Osmanthus Absolute (Osmanthus fragrans)
A great energizing kids oil that is perfectly safe. I question the use of Lavender and Vetiver but that overall isn’t affecting safety.
So overall I really like this line. I was honestly surprised, after going over Young Livings and doTERRAS oils for kids I was beginning to think other companies just didn’t over anything good for kids. The only issues were unknown oils, and to be honest here they are probably okay if I just went off the fact that all the other oils in this line are awesome. I love how they have the age range, because other companies did not. I also really loved that they had a dilution recommendation as well, which was 1%. Overall this is a good line and there really aren’t any issues with using it. On top of that they offer a large selection of kid blend oils. They don’t predilute to my knowledge (I could be wrong) and they are true to their word on safety and usage.
