An Aromatherapy Course Update
There is a lot to talk about since the last time I did a blog post on my course. You can check out why I got into aromatherapy in a previous post and learn all about how I got started on this journey. I also wanted to just give a little update and talk about what I am doing now and how things are going.
Since the last time I made a personal post, I have finished my level 1 course and am finishing up on my level 2 course as well. I am so close to becoming a certified level 2 aromatherapist. What does this mean? This means I have studied all of the bod systems, how to utilize essential oils with each system and I have also studied the profiles, chemical makeup and therapeutic benefits of 50 essential oils. A level 2 is 200 hours, so on-top of the 100 hours I did for my level 1 I will have 300 hours of training over the course of 2 years.
That doesn’t end there however, as I come to an end for my level 2 course, I am now also taking a level 3 course for clinical aromatherapy. This is an additional 100 hours and covers more in depth topics, such as ingestion of essential oils. On top of that if I want to be a certified clinical aromatherapist and register with the NAHA I need to complete 1 year of direct clinical aromatherapy experience. I am still looking into what this means exactly but I believe if I work on the clinical level in aromatherapy for a year in the medical field than that counts. It’s a lot of work.
But for now, I am simply just a certified aromatherapist still, pursuing more education every year. I am starting my own business, which in itself is a challenge. Business building is slow growth, but I am having a lot of fun doing it.
I am also working on a lot of free content for people as well, I currently have a free dilution chart for download in my shop. I plan to also release one for max topical dilutions as well as an essential oils safety eBook. There’s a lot that I want to do and am doing, and it takes a lot of my time. It’s hard work too. It can be a lot some days trying to balance all of that as well as motherhood, finding time for my 2 kiddos and keeping the household running as well.
All in all it’s been a long journey these past 2 years and I am still not done. I have at least another year and a half to go if I want to become a certified clinical aromatherapist. Looking back, when I had first gotten into essential oils and discovered aromatherapy I could have never guessed I would even make it to this point. I thought I was just taking some classes for fun. It’s been a fun journey and I can’t wait to see where else this takes me.
